Wynnstay breakfast

Post by RIP »

I fancied breakfast at the Wynnstay on Saturday morning (I refuse to take my own supplies when we can/should buy local) so I rang Pauline and put in a request. She's happy to provide breakfast but would appreciate if anyone else who wants to join in could please let her know well beforehand, and roughly what you'd like, so that she can plan accordingly. She seemed to be under the impression that we'd all be leaving on the dot of 8am and being given a slap-up four-course breakfast by Stu and Dee, but I said no no, a lie-in and breakfast for me please  .

She said she appreciated my call anyway because she wasn't sure if the event was still on, what with current circumstances. I know there wouldn't normally be a need to contact a B&B again after you'd made a booking, but putting myself in her place I might be feeling a teeny bit apprehensive that what is effectively a large "block booking" might not materialise on the day. If she's getting stuff in, this is a quiet time of year and it would be a bad time to get stuck with it if none of us turned up.

Anyway, if you'd like brekkie perhaps you could give her a buzz....

I've sent her an email. I hope Stu and Dee have plenty of marmalade in for Saturday morning's toast...

I didn't know you could do that  . But I'm a pensioner.

Did anyone get fed in the evening there BTW? I didn't want to pressure her into that as well. Might have a cobbled-together repast at Staylittle Stores as I ride by on Friday afternoon.

At the November running of the BB200 there were people, inc. BBers, eating there in the evening. The meals seemed substantial and no-one complained about them.

I ate there in the evening before the October BB200, as did others. I've requested the same again...

Did you call them or did you email? I don't want to pester them, but I also don't want to miss out, so may give em a tickle. Still waiting for a reply.

Vaguely related... is the Wynnstay officially the new Star then? I'll keep that in mind for the WRT.

I've heard rumours of some of the WE contingent aiming for the bus shelter on Friday night but I might be wrong  .

Remember Pauline (the current landlady) is moving on soon so we might find that the new gentlemen take it super-upmarket and it becomes far too posh for riff-raff like us.... can't see much call for a boutique B&B in LBM myself but maybe I've misjudged the place  .

In other news, wheelbearings installed at the last moment so I won't be providing free amusement riding the F/S after all, sorry about that.

It may be short lived if Pauline has actually found a buyer :???: Good for her but maybe not so for those looking for bikepacking friendly and priced accommodation

I don't know, we class up these places and then they sell up on us.

Don't know but you'd likely need the same again to do it up.
