I did nearly think about possibly entering again but I'm pleased with me decision not to. We all need to get behind Dave though as its high time he got round :-bd

I doubt that many will actually start. Not sure what the pre-start dropout rate is, but I bet its 15 or 20%

Dave does need to just get it done now. I didn't spot Alan's name on the list.

I feel duty bound to get it done this year as it was very good of Alan to hold me a place. I'm sure he will be there as well

I wonder if Adrian Hodges knows he's doing it twice?

You’re rider 7. Hopefully your luck extends beyond just that.

Strong field for next year, though.

First yoyo?
Then
FKT yoyo.
Perhaps before or later;
First winter, then winter yoyo, then grandads bike, then unicycle, then penny farthing. Then all of them also as yoyo and in winter. And once the first has been done, all will see FKTs.
There's loads one could 'do' with/on the HT550. It's just a natural development.

13 was dry, 16 was dry too. I may suggest, that when I ride the HT, I bring Swiss weather with me (not like all would want that). Now, 2 x 3 years apart, I nearly sent Alan "the" email. I'm sure the conditions would've been dry (except for the track of the 1000 puddles) with only a couple of showers. Would've been

Hope the conditioning ("training") goes well for all participating next year :-bd

I guess there were quite a few that deferred due to Covid
Fingers crossed hope there will be a cancellation place

Aye but there is usually a fair few on the waiting list so any drop outs have tended to get replaced by those in recent years. Maybe he's going to do a staggered start again.

Is there an account of that published anywhere?
Would be interesting to read it.

Adrian Baskerville looking to reclaim the oldest finisher record? He was oldest finisher in 2017 age 62, but Ian McNab, age 65 finished the route in 2021.

It was mentioned in a previous HT550 thread I think. It sounded like an interesting experience.

As mentioned in the 2021 Reflections, Annie Le should be starting a winter HT550 today, here's the link to her fundraising.

I thought I'd seen mention of a tracker but can't find it at the moment, but I'll add it if I do.

That's fantastic - she's started.

I really hope she completes this - I have never met her, but we need people like her as inspiration. :-bd
