I'm not sure what problem it's solving, but I thought this looked interesting:

Supposedly for solid fuel tablets, but possibly you could use a meths burner in there? In which case it's just a windshield/pot holder really, but assuming it's fairly light (no weight specified) I can see some advantages.
Yay or nay?
Only £6 so maybe someone will give it a go.
Interesting stove concept

Re: Interesting stove concept
Seems it relies on the pot being the right size so that the lip lies on top of the stand?
Re: Interesting stove concept
Mug handles might hold it up too, if it's a tight fit. Doesn't look like a very wide base to hold a mug full of water though.
I use a conical windshield with two of the (otherwise useless) terranova titanium tent pegs stuck through it to hold the mug up. Use hexi blocks under it too as I think they're maybe the lightest setup. They are exceedingly stinky and messy though. Leave a residue on the bottom of the mug.

I think you're right. Designed for a standard issue army mug presumably. Wonder how well it would work with a slightly different size.ScotRoutes wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 11:25 am Seems it relies on the pot being the right size so that the lip lies on top of the stand?

Re: Interesting stove concept
That looks highly inefficient given that much of the potential heat appears to be exiting via the holes and going up the outside
If you're using solid fuel, then there's really no need for a 'stove' at all. Just a way of raising the pot above the fuel.

Looks ideal if you’re using a crusader cup and hexi blocks.
Not much use otherwise.

Do ikea do one cheaper?? It's just flat pack over all!
(Discounted price as there maybe a few bits missing )

Fair point, and I guess that's inevitable if you're going to support the mug by wrapping something round the lip, leaving no "chimney".Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 12:09 pm That looks highly inefficient given that much of the potential heat appears to be exiting via the holes and going up the outside

Yeah, it's just a windshield/pot holder really, and there are lighter weight ones available.
