Re: BB200 route.
Thanks for this Alex. I've been a bit perplexed about this community centre aswell as there's little info on their website except for a pic of some scones. 13£ you say...
I wonder how they'll know when the last person is through

Re: BB200 route.
cheers for the update.
It's all a bit too easy isn't it? I won't be saying that when it's taken me 8 hours to ride the 40 miles there on Saturday though

In no way am I complaining, but if I don't want an armful of cake to carry are they going to be ok with me chucking them a quid for just a water refill? Or is it cake or nothing?

Maybe he’s an “athlete”

He'd understand the importance of cake if so!

It’s the talk of herbal tea that got me worried

Re: BB200 route.
I was struggling to find it, then I realised I was looking on the map at 59 miles, not 59 km.
Everything will be fine
10 years since I last had a go at this according to FB memories, gonna finish it this time!

Re: BB200 route.
I called the (red) pub just off route @ 111km. They will be open until 10 or 11 and can do chips / garlic bread as well as normal bar snacks.
On a related topic, any tips on calculating the required calories for the whole route?
Strava said 7500kJ for last year but no idea how accurate that is.

Re: BB200 route.
No tips, mine is based on trial and error (lots of error).
Most importantly, I know what I can eat when. An armful of dry sponge cake at 3am will be pure ballast once I start to get dehydrated. On multiday rides I slow down to try to avoid this but on this I'll burn my Sunday matches Saturday night and try to hang on.

I did 60g this time, was really hard to get it all in. Not least because I always seemed to eat just before a stupid hard hill / bumpy descent.
Re: BB200 route.
Leaving soton shortly.
For anyone driving tonight, are there any plans to meet anywhere?
I’m going to sleep in the car park near (what was) the star.
