XTR quick release hubs (or quality alternates)
Anyone got any that they might not want a kidney sale for... Just sold the Hopes to Allen (he was original seller to Robbie and then to me... so you could say the wheels have come full circle ) so wanna build myself some oddjobs to get me through.
Hmmm, this is where it gets interesting (I just realised) I need quick release, so retro enough, but also need disc specific... so fairly modern!
Anyone able to help at a basement price please...

Re: XTR quick release hubs
I just sold the Hope pro (4 I think) back to Allen in the wheelset. I'm hoping to get that (almost) full Shimano XTR look in the Pinnacle
I've never been a fan of Hope like I am Shimano

Actually. Just realised, even if I found a quick release with disc... I'd still have the problem of trying to fit 11 speed cassette to it.
Might need to look falurther afield afterall. So other quality options may be considered...

You can fix 11 speed to qr wheelseven if I found a quick release with disc... I'd still have the problem of trying to fit 11 speed cassette to it.

Re: XTR quick release hubs (or quality alternates)
You mean the 9 speed freehubs accept the 11 speed cassettes. I assumed there would be compatibilty problems...
Re: XTR quick release hubs (or quality alternates)
How new do you want vs cost?
I have a brand new XT 32 hole QR rear hub that I'm not going to use that you could have very cheap.
I also have a well used Stans 3.30 32 hole QR rear hub that's lighter than a Hope or DT350 (but probably not as light as a DT240), has seen two bearing changes but is still going fine, been built into two different wheels, that doesn't owe me a lot.
Both will fit an *MTB* 11spd cassette but not a road 11spd one.
I also have a selection of part used QR front hubs, including a nice Goldtec XC 32 hole one if you weren't fussed about matching the rear other than colour (they're all black).
Let me know if you want a full appraisal of my QR hub stocks!

Shimano MTB freehubs (HG spline) will take 8, 9, 10 (road/MTB) or 11 speed (MTB only, 11-36 upwards) cassettes. On the MTB 11 speed cassettes, the largest sprocket overhangs the back of the cassette where it butts up against the freehub.

Yes pls Dyffers.. If you could add prices (pics would be great) and usage/abusage time. Interester in the Stans too but worried it might be made of cheeseDyffers wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 1:16 pm How new do you want vs cost?

Thanks Colin. Sadly I was unable to find any decent 36h rims at a decent price so will need to give these 36h xtr of yours a miss...ScotRoutes wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 10:05 pmI have front and rear M970 hubs. Dyffers, I emailed you that I would take the XT hub but managed to find an m600 in 32h for just £27 so have gone with that. Trying to keep the total price smack bottom you see

Re: XTR quick release hubs (or quality alternates)
Gonna be too narrow for my needs Colin. Trying to find a sweet spot of wide enough rims that will work nice with standard QR hubs but also take 2.6 to 2.8 with ease..
You got owt wider Colin??

Hi Shaf,
Do you remember selling me some Shimano Ultegra grade hubs? They were disc and qr. Well they still live in the garage in the packaging you sent them in. Are they of interest?
Regards
Ian

Re: XTR quick release hubs (or quality alternates)
Hi Ian... Thanks for the offer but not sure if Ultegra would be strong enough for off roading duties. Hence probably gonna give em a miss.BreninBeener wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 10:37 pm Hi Shaf,
