Just like an old ‘58 pattern poncho/basha that the MOD and most other NATO armies issued/issue for years.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:04 pmI truth, it's absolutely nothing like. This thing's more akin to a bog standard rectangular tarp .... with a hole int' middleGatewood alternative?
Except they cost £15-20 at your local surplus store.

I do hope you're not being mean about Toddy! I got my first tattoo from him, at one of the Bristol bike polo tournaments...

Just checked and it's still available which I assume means that it wasn't posted as an April 1st jest.
I was doing alright with the video until he poured hot water from a perfectly good Ti mug into a heavy double-walled stainless mug to make a brewThere's something about that product video

Re: New Finisterre Poncho/Tarp
If anyone is considering a poncho / tarp and for some reason didn't want a Gatewood cape, I reckon I'd be looking at the S2S Sil 'Nano' which weighs about 230g and costs around £70.
It would appear (judging from this picture) that they also produce a completely freestanding version that doesn't require any supports, simply lines to prevent it from floating away.
