New Finisterre Poncho/Tarp

Looks like Finisterre have a new poncho/tarp combo launching soon, might interest some.

Gatewood alternative?

I truth, it's absolutely nothing like. This thing's more akin to a bog standard rectangular tarp .... with a hole int' middle :wink:

Just like an old ‘58 pattern poncho/basha that the MOD and most other NATO armies issued/issue for years.
Except they cost £15-20 at your local surplus store.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

Just checked and it's still available which I assume means that it wasn't posted as an April 1st jest.
There's something about that product video
I was doing alright with the video until he poured hot water from a perfectly good Ti mug into a heavy double-walled stainless mug to make a brew :roll:

If anyone is considering a poncho / tarp and for some reason didn't want a Gatewood cape, I reckon I'd be looking at the S2S Sil 'Nano' which weighs about 230g and costs around £70.

It would appear (judging from this picture) that they also produce a completely freestanding version that doesn't require any supports, simply lines to prevent it from floating away.
