pot on top of seatpost bag?
i was wondering if anyone keeps their pot and stove on top of the seatpost bag? a good example of what i mean can be seen here at 1min 45secs https://youtube.com/watch?v=pjRHPBiivzM
they are a bit of a pain to store i feel, and while i was previously considering a potbag from acepac im now wondering sbout conjuring up a system to attatch it top the top of my seatpost bag myself. i use an exo-rail with one of those adapters for the older alpkit bags so hopefully it shouldnt be too hard to whip up something.
anyone else keep their pot like this? and if so how to u attatch it?

No, I don't. Mine goes in my frame bag or in a handlebar hangy pod thingy (I can't remember the technical expression)
But there are no rules on this, as such: whatever works, eh?

I'm just going outside ...

I've never carried so much stuff that I couldn't fit a pot into one of my bags.
But then I haven't prepped for a round-the-world trip.

True. I don't think dangling a mug from your seatpack is a good solution, but who am I to tell Josh Ibbett what to do?TheBrownDog wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 4:46 pm But there are no rules on this, as such: whatever works, eh?

Re: pot on top of seatpost bag?
Nope. If you have to get you backside over the back of the seat, its hard enough with just a seatpack. I can foresee getting caught up on the pot just as you drop into a nice steep rocky chute with face altering results...
Plus its bound to fall off at some point. I'd be always looking to stow stuff like pots and stoves inside a bag (frame bag for me) in fact I prefer everything to be inside a bag, not hanging off.

Don't mention the dangle mug!
Most folk keep their mug/pot in one of these

the decathalon ones are miles cheaper than alpkit ones and have been fine for me so far.

See, for me, a bag like that is for items I want to access whilst riding. That's unlikely to include a pot (possibly with fuel/stove inside it).Borderer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 5:27 pm Don't mention the dangle mug!

Take less and thus eliminate the source of your little problem.

run what you brung eh? the best pot is the pot you have!
Re: pot on top of seatpost bag?
When your pot is so big it becomes a "bag" for you to pack even more stuff in it!
If at first you don't succeed you're running about average!
