115.2kg - 1.1.2021
114.5kg - 8.1.2021
113.2kg - 15.1.2021
111.1kg - 22.01.2021
109.9kg - 29.01.2021
109.8kg - 05.02.2021
108.3kg - 12.02.2021
107.2kg - 19.02.2021

Pleased with that as I was beginning to feel like I'd never even begin shift things - 8kg lost since the New Year so about 1kg per week which seems to feel about right at the moment. Regular exercise, less puddings and a better diet seems to be working. That might be about the weight of my summer bivi kit - just the weight of the winter kit to shift before next winter.

Well done all... all going in the right direction... Kevin... I tried some Bulk whey too... like that. Thanks for the pointer. :-bd

Well done :-bd

Glad you got on with the whey powder. I've been having one scoop, with 200g greek yogurt and blueberries whizzed up for breakfast. The odd one post ride with milk and peanut butter powder.

Just grabbed these so that I can have a bit more freedom with my diet (lets me eat a meal that isn't absolutely packed with protein).

Went this way as most of the normal protein shakes really don't mix well with water, and every calorie counts when you're at the levels I have to do to lose weight!

I assume they all have sweetners in? I couldn't find any flavoured ones without sweetners. Though sweetners would drastically help my weight loss

The plain one I have mixes fine with water, and tastes fine too, just like reconstituted dehydrated milk, which is kind of what it is!

I should assume so. I have no need to avoid sweeteners, only sugar.

I've tried probably 50+ in the last decade and very few have been any good with water. Hard for me to just force down any old crap as by eating them in the first place I'm already compromising more than I'd like.

Yeh that's fair enough, wasn't accusing you of being overly fussy, just I find mine ok.

I wish I could handle sweetners, it would make life so much easier and also calorie restriction too!

26/12/2020: 121.7kg
1/1/2021: 117.7kg
8/1/2021: 116.8kg
15/1/2021: 115.5kg
22/1/2021: 113.6kg
29/1/2021: 113.1kg
5/2/2021:. 112.2kg
12/2/2021: 111.7kg
19/2/2021: 110.5kg
26/2/2021: 110.4kg

A measly 100g this week

Calories have all been the same (2200-2400 total), not gone off plan, but exercise has been down some due to my knee flaring up. Tbh I think I'm just feeling a bit inflamed and 'full'.

I'll keep on carrying on and hope next week it catches up. Still feeling good anyway.

19/2/2021 72.9
26/2/2021 72.3

No beer and pasta on Thursday this week. I did have a massive pina colada a couple of days ago but I was a goody two shoes the rest of the week.

26-02-21 - 115kg
19-02-21 - 114.5kg
05-02-21 - 112.5kg
29-01-21 - 112.6kg
22-01-21 - 114.3kg
15-01-21 - 114.2kg
08-01-21 - 114.8kg
01-01-21 - 115.4kg

Arse!

So.....a three part issue I think.

1. I've been allowing myself to stray from the righteous nutritional path whilst busy/stressed.

2. I've been allowing myself to over-celebrate being allowed beer again (it doesn't help that Brewdog screwed up on an order for that recent weekend away and I ended up with an extra FREE 48 cans of NEIPA).

3. I've been eating too much meat and I feel it all just sitting there going nowhere.

E.g. on Wednesday morning I was back down to 112kg but then wifey went away for the night and so for dinner I ate an entire packet of sausages, a load of pasta and sank 6 cans of beer - what a dickhead!

Start 144kg
8/01/21 - 144kg
22/01/21 - 148kg
29/01/21 - 147kg
11/02/21 - 147kg
19/02/21 - 141.5kg
26/02/21 - 146kg

Back up again, I think last weeks was an anomaly due to dehydration maybe? Still lower than my high point and moving in the right direction, eating better lunches in work and I have knocked biscuits on the head. Worth noting I am starting to feel more energetic.

This. ^

I find that (and it's especially easy to see with hindsight) the times when I did a bit good tended to make me feel better which I then gave me more energy and motivation to do even more etc...

Inversely, as with right now, I feel I'm in a slump (of my own making) which means I feel low on energy, which makes me more likely to cheat, which makes me feel bad, which makes me comfort eat/drink etc...

I have also noted that I have short-term oscillations.....this week for example where I was broken after Monday and so I did the right thing by taking the morning off and going for a nice ride on Tuesday and felt great but then I was over tired so over ate so felt crap and knackered and so comfort ate, slept badly and then drank beer to forget about it all..... :-bd

.....and longer-term oscillations.....January was mostly good, February has seen me lapse more than is acceptable.

I'm keen to keep up with the observations and the analysis of the various contributory factors to what, how and why I eat and drink well/badly as I think it's really helpful to know BUT I'm yet to find a way to successfully counter the negatives and maintain the positives.

All very interesting though.....

Just putting this out here...

After the Freddy Flintoff documentary about bulimia at the back end of last year I was spurred on to deal with my life long demons and get some therapy.

Touch wood, my binge and bust on both food and exercise seems to be under control now. I've had a few major stresses and agro with work recently which would normally have seen me in a black pit of comfort eating, but despite the aggro and stress I've not gone running there. I'm intending to have a 'catch up' monthly to help keep me on track and sense of perspective.

All very interesting though.....
Given a few changes in work I am impressed I am starting to feel better, work has become much tougher with a lot more pressure being placed on my shoulders, January and early February I found myself getting home and feeling exhausted, the energy and momentum from last year were definitely missing. It will get better, these are the toughest months of the year, support is here for anyone if they need it.

Good on you!

I am very aware that I've got sub standard going on and I've spent enough time working on myself to know mostly what it is and how it works and so I've always been of the opinion that I'm the person best placed to sort my head monkeys out.

Not for a second poopooing therapy but, as with most things in life, I like to do it myself.

But certainly not something I would rule out completely for if/when I come to the conclusion that I'm not going to do it alone.

01/01/21: 72.5kg
-------------
12/02/21: 68.4kg (+0.2kg)
19/02/21: 68.0kg (-0.4kg)
26/02/21: 66.7kg (-1.3kg)

Target: 60kg by 12/06/21.
-------------

Solid week, was very careful with my calories and training intensity was up over last week (was a rest week). I need to dial that a bit better though as that lot of deficit will end up leaving me too tired to train properly.

Down to drinking alcohol only once or twice a week (don't have the calories for it anyway!) which obviously makes a big difference, if only in terms of maintaining impulse control.

Well done... if you ever need anyone to talk to (mainly just to listen even) then there's plenty on here that would be happy to lend an attentive PM ear.... I need to watch yhat doc for myself. The pounds are just piling on :o

Just a note, you may currently be going through a "pre-whoosh" phase. Every chance you had a much better week than you thought you did.

This is oversimplified, but gets the point across: https://pinchofnom.com/the-whoosh-effect-explained/

Hi Richard, yeh seen about that and wondered. I do tend to suffer similar due to Inflammation I get in my legs too.

Whatever I'm carrying on, and definitely looking better. Got to wear a soft shell jersey last week that I haven't been able to wear since I got it last year.

The body change thing is a bit of a pain for me. I store basically all of my fat on my torso and can go from a large to a small in some clothes within the course of about 5kg. Is ridiculous.

I've had to go as far as to tag some of my wardrobe with a weight range. =/
