Well worth a watch, for those interested in cold weather bike packing and those who fear the freeze. Loads of lovely pics, handy tips and amusing tales. It's still available to watch from that link along with a couple of other interesting looking adventure talks - kayaking and winter Munros.

We were supposed to be at a Dougie Maclean concert at the hall last year. It was postponed until April and now cancelled.

We also saw Jenny Graham's talk there (in fact I think it was her 'premiere').

They have's nice community thing going on but have obviously struggled to keep it going this past year. Definitively worth a little support.

Watched it yesterday while doing some frame bag mods on the sewing machine. Always a pleasure to hear them talk and see their pictures. Stuck a fiver in the virtual pot too - great to see a little village hall (as I imagine) hosting events that are being watching in Alaska, etc. I had to chuckle at the host suggesting that fat bikes are a growing niche and are likely to boom in the next couple of years

I don't think I fear the freeze any less. Whilst they're clearly equipped and experienced to deal with it, and find it worthwhile, they still talked of unavoidable cold in the mornings and irreparably frozen boots after a couple of days. I think -30 might be a step too far for me

Twas very interesting that. As with NW, I think I'm unlikely to now ever get the nous to deal with -30. I also particularly liked Huws comments about doing such things to enjoy the scenery / riding / sunsets / etc rather than just to conquer stuff. I've never liked this attitude of doing something 'cos its there and then moving onto the next challenge.
