Exposure joystick carbon coming apart
Anyone experienced this and fixed it?
Carbon tube of the body has come unglued from the metal lamp head. All still works fine but seems unwise not to get it fixed as makes the unit rather less weatherproof.
Waiting to hear from Exposure so just curious if anyone has had similar experience. I'm not the original owner (and that's not a problem) but it invalidates any warranty or obligation.

Yep. Exact same thing happened to mine. Water (a lot of water I reckon) got inside and messed the innards up too making it unusable. Went back to Exposure and got replaced. The new one's come slightly loose again but it's out of warranty now.
I don't think I'd buy the carbon version again because of it.

Ah boo, that's a shame to hear.

Another one here, seems the weakness is in the carbon laminate, it's almost new & barely used. Got a returns note to send it back. I sort of came to the conclusion that this was why they seemed to be 'going cheap'

Re: Exposure joystick carbon coming apart
Ironic really because (iirc) the carbon version saves little if any weight over the all metal version.
Re: Exposure joystick carbon coming apart
They don’t seem to handle any heat generated as well as the alu ones do either..

Re: Exposure joystick carbon coming apart
It saves a pathetic amount of weight - the weight of a 50p piece or something.
Still though, it's carbon

IMO that sort of argument only works with Ti stuff. Carbon's just black plastic reallyIn Reverse wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:58 pm It saves a pathetic amount of weight - the weight of a 50p piece or something.
