USB C Microphones - Tell Me...

Post by Escape Goat »

Does anyone use them? Listening to my random babblings of a mad man on my ChewYube it sounds like I'm recording on a potato...looking to get something a little better than the stock mic on my mobile.

Thanks :)

RØDE Microphones seem to have a good rep. I've been considering a VideoMic[ro] but don't really do enough recording to justify one.

Cheers Rich, maybe a little big for on the bike, hoping for something that can plug in the bottom and just use the phone to hold itself in place, rather than a separate tripod. Thanks for the link, it may send me on the way to finding something.

They're somewhat versatile.

I've checked out the clip on ones but ideally I'd like one that attaches to the phone and use the phone to secure it.

Like this

But they don't get good reviews on the whole.

If it's for on the bike I've used a Zoom H1N with a dead cat over the mic.

Tascam Olympus Sony do similar. Just make sure use a clap to sync the audio with your camera.

Good advice from rich there. But if you want an in one solution you can plug a better mic into the headphone socket (or adapter cable if your phone doesn't have a headphone socket).
Rode,Shure, akg, ik multimedia are all good manufacturers: https://www.gear4music.com/Microphones/ ... -iPod.html

Wouldn't that come across a little intense?

A clap? I'm confused. You know it doesn't take much.

Clap your hands so that you get a small peak in your noise outputs to match up on your video edit.
