This sounds like you all need to download Untappd app. You can log your beers, rate them, toast friends and upload pictures.
I use it, bad thing is, I've now tried over 50 unique beers. Since March. Not good

Fairytale of Brew York indeed, ho ho! Maple, vanilla, etc - overload of Reg's favourite flavours. Am coming up your way, can you hide a few tins under a hedge somewhere please and I'll pick 'em up?

TBH our schedule's a bit fluid what with the daughter. Where'd you get 'em from?

Ta for the tip-off Chris - managed to pick a few bits up including the last four Fairytales! Salted caramel? Ludicrous, but we'll give it a go.

Bugger.
I was going to get some more of those. Hopefully they'll restock.

Sorry about that old bean! Got a bit carried away nattering to the proprietress. It's certainly a multi-layered multi-faceted concoction. Powerfully roasted and nutty. Made all the more unusual by having to be drunk from a wineglass cos that's all they seem to have here!

Next up: Thornbridge 'Lucaria' Salted Caramel Porter . Gets more ridiculous by the minute. Like being in a sweetshop. Not that I'm complaining about being in a sweetshop.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Glad to hear that David's got over his issues there.
Lucaria: "In ancient Roman religion, the Lucaria was a festival of the grove (Latin lucus) held July 19 and 21. The original meaning of the ritual was obscure by the time of Varro (mid-1st century BC), who omits it in his list of festivals".
So there we go. I do like a back-story to my quaffings.

Oh dear. Just nipped in to the shop for a newspaper but always end up 'supporting the local economy' too
Re: What are you drinking now?
Which is Mrs Perin most annoyed about, that you only went out for a newspaper and came back with 5 bottles of beer or that you also bought 'another' book about mines
After your previous post I had a craving for a milk stout, so tonight I'll be trying a Denver Milk Stout, although it says Brewed Exclusively for Asda on the front I'll not judge until I've tried it, it's brewed by Brewing and Distilling Company (BAD Co.) in North Yorkshire so not exactly artisan but by the small volume stocked it's obviously not a big seller. It was the only milk stout in the shop and Sheffield was too far to go for me.

A mint julep. One side effect of Covid-19 is that my missus has taken up mixology.

Re: What are you drinking now?
You've perceptively spotted one of the arrows in my 'keep Mrs Perrin off balance' quiver. Never give her one 'choice' to be annoyed about. By the the time she's calculated which one to run with I'm long gone.
I'm not usually a fan of stouts TBH - they're a bit too close to drinking coffee for my taste. I had to spend a lot of time recalibrating my tastebuds before talking the plunge with 'Slide's recommendation. Got a couple of ruby ales to help me get back to normal afterwards. You'll be suggesting I get hold of a few Mackesons (from a museum?) next to find out why my nan found them so inexplicably appealing (an appeal apparently enhanced by consuming it whilst watching the Saturday afternoon wrestling on telly).craving for a milk stout
Actually, thinking about Mackeson, maybe a new diversion for this thread [B2's cocktail diversion is looking good] might be retro beers? Red Barrel? Trophy ('the pint that thinks it's a quart')? You go first .
Right, nice sunny morning here. Might take a wander up to the churchyard to check out an interesting shaft while Mrs P is thinking about which Bakewell clothes shop(s) she's going to drag me round looking dejected.

Jemima's Pitchfork.
Not literally now, last night.
Is it very wrong of me to use beer as a way of motivating myself to spend a night outside??
I hardly drink these days, and it's kind of an odd combination, trying to stay warm but drinking cold beer, just when I'd normally try and not drink too much so I don't have to struggle out of the sleeping bag to pee too often... but I thought I'd give it a try, after reading all the posts here - it's all your fault!!!!
PS and very nice it was too

There's nothing in the BaM Rules so you're good to go. Time honoured reason to be honest, saved many of us from BaM oblivion in the past.Verena wrote:

Conversely I sometimes use spending a night outside as a way of motivating myself to have a beer .
