It'll be in the last place you look.

In our house, when something goes missing, it usually prompts the question - "have you looked in a sack of apples?"

This dates back almost 30 years, to the time the shed keys disappeared. After several days of not being able to get into the shed, and seriously considering taking a sledgehammer to the door, we were washing and packing the sack of apples which had been leaning against the shed, the whole time...

...doh!

Anybody seen my borah gear tarp?

I know where my tent is, I know where my bivi bags are.. I know where my lunar solo is. But that tarp... Hiding somewhere it is.... :???:

3 x 3BA button head screws and nuts that previously held the tail light onto one of the 'sickles. I took them off to take the light off, put them somewhere safe  And now they have disappeared into thin air....

Today. Locked bike to a lamp post outside the bank. Walked away to join the queue, then realised the Etrex still on the bars. Walked back to get it and found I’d lost the key for the lock. Searched ground around. Emptied pockets several times. Nothing. How can this be? Searched again and found it balancing on the front axle. Ghaaa! A fine example of the innate hostility of inanimate objects. I swear it was laughing at me.

I've lost an MT500 II jacket, and I have no idea how. Those things are stupid expensive. :(

Edit - and apparently not longer available. FFS.

Is that the one with the pit-zips? I last saw it on the 2018 BB300 if that helps

So no one's seen my tarp then?

Is that what we're saying?

Sorry, I stopped looking. I've now checked in the storage box* where I keep all my shelters and it's not there. It's also not in the luggage box, the mat and bivi bag box, the cooking box or the general 'other odds and ends' box.

*Perhaps an idea for you

Ha, yeah. I think I had it on the January event, but I have no idea where it would have gone since.
