Re: House!
What the hey, might as well do something a bit more interesting than my normal weekend perambulation.....
Edit - bingo card arrived - looks like plenty of options to get a full house for me. No idea about the instagram stuff though so I guess I'm already a pre-ride fail.... Will do it anyway and then send them something in the post to confuse them!

The bingo card is on the site - https://thedistance.cc/bingocard.pdf (Don't tell Stu about the middle item on row 2 )
I reckon I could get seven of those just stepping out of the door! (And if that kestrel comes back that'd be eight )

Praying it’s not ‘something dangled’...whitestone wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 8:14 pm I reckon I could get seven of those just stepping out of the door! (And if that kestrel comes back that'd be eight )

Just trying to think of some nearby trailside art - I think all the others can be fitted into about a 5 mile local loop, given good luck with birds of prey!

Re: House!
So has anyone done this then? I forgot until about mid ride, managed to get the bingo card on my phone and (more or less) got all the pics..... Will try and upload it to their site later if I can be arsed but here goes.....
The bingo card....
Flannel (under)shirt
Trailside art - "Toy car on fence post" signifies the death of motorised transport. Or something.
Something Historic = An old bridge. I could have photographed one of several ancient barronial piles in the area but f**** that.
Trailside coffee, none of your gourmet nonsense
Something Dangled - no nothing dangling
Scenic View
Uphill struggle (on a singlespeed anyway)
Hike a bike (its steeper than it looks)
Bike faffing = post ride washing as the bike as usual performed flawlessly
Singletrack - this is a good one.
Water crossing - no half measures here
Trail snacks
Picked some litter
A majestic bird of prey? Err no, free range pigs. I usually see several buzzards, the odd kestrel and sometimes a sparrowhawk or two on all of my rides but today saw hee-haw, so photo'd these fine specimens instead.
Post ride drinks (and Stevens the bakers double biscuit)
All very silly but added a new dimension to my usual bike rides which tend towards the relentless pedal so all good fun.....

Re: House!
Failed attempt, didn’t get a full house, not even a line and I was a day late too
Oh well, ‘was a fun way to spend an hour or so on the bike
Hopefully they’ll be a winter event
