Tonight I shall be digging out my old Peter Green albums

I'm not a musician and so I can't comment on technique, nevertheless, I have recently taken to watching drum cam footage and some of them just mesmerize me.

I prefer bludgeon to finesse so I can watch clips like this one over and over again.

Yup...the whole LBC was pretty good back then. Sublime gets good airplay here...Garden Grove is a perennial...but without a sub and a well treated room, you'll never hear everything. I'm still hearing new stuff in that album as I put in more bass absorbers.

@ Dave - the lads in Alchemist I've known for a long time. I have lost count how many times I saw them live...and I consider myself fortunate to have both opened for them and headlined on a bill with them. Seek out Jar of Kingdom - that was the era I saw them do pubs and clubs in Canberra. Stunning live band. The best cover of Celtic Frosts 'Dethroned Emperor' I've seen/heard anywhere on the planet.

@ Andy....yeah...I think we had this discussion once before about musical alignment. I'll throw on some CorpseFlower and Lovage just for you.

Filter, Mother E

Used to love Filter. Albums, concerts - enjoyed all of it.

Then things changed; the band's style, my taste... Lost track of their work. Until this morning and am since enjoying some of the later stuff I've not yet heared.

Now I can't go about without a Beavis and Butthead headbang running through labs shouting MOTHER!

Shared it with Mum:
"Here's a song for you".
"Really???"

I’m listening to the blissful sound of silence. The all-natural version, not the one by Simon & Garfunkel or Disturbed.

And if you like Jennifer Charles in this, go check out Elysian Fields.

Ace, that's a name I've not heard in a while. Added that to Spotify to listen to soon.

I've been digging into some vinyl that's unloved for some time. Rediscovered some great techno

And acid house

Like that album, I edited a section of a skydiving film to Aisha, a few years back, one of the other tracks I used was Pleasant Valley Sunday by the Monkeys :-bd Today’s selection from the same era was ‘When I was born for the seventh time’ by Cornershop, very good.

OK, how far back can we go  . Forget E* P*, without Buddy would R&R ever have happened at all? 1959. Terrible loss. Possibly the earliest punk rock?

Viewing now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkCZDB9r4V0 (Yes, I know it's Gary Busey but the atmosphere is electric  “Hey, we weren’t expecting y’all either.” ). Check out the double-bass player HOTT  .

Clicked on this with luke-warm interest as their sound became too clean for me years ago.

Turns out it's quite catchy and so I might have to listen to the full album when it lands.

Had to go back and have a listen to when they were murkier though.

I'm sure there's a reference to Peggy Sue in there somewhere.

Anal Nathrakh?? Well I gave it a try, might be an acquired taste but certainly worth a listen  That was possibly even louder than Disaster Area  .

I'm going with the "Tottenham Sound" now, and that's my lot tonight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSLi4pWxKEg. Sigh, I was born ten years too late.
