Wheel weight shocker!

Post by Ray Young »

I knew even before I bought my steel framed Charge Cooker that I would at some point want to make it lighter as it weighs 30lbs. As soon as I got it I replaced the front wheel for an "on one" wheel which I already had, not sure how much lighter it is but it is definitely lighter than the original. I have now decided to replace the rear wheel so decided to weigh it. Charge own brand hub, straight gauge spokes and alex rims sx44 rim with cassette and skewer removed (but not the disc) it weighed in at a massive 1.4k, that's a whole 3.1lbs! The wheel i'm looking at is going to save me 0.9lb straight away, might even try it tubeless. After that it's save for a carbon fork then maybe some lighter bars.
