ESI grips for the small of hand?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Want some new grips to replace my pretend wooden ones. There's lots of praise for ESI grips but I'm a little bothered that the Chunky grips might be a bit too chunky. Has anyone tried the Racers Edge version? The bumph says they're a little thinner, so might suit my dainty pinkies better.

I've ridden both, I prefer a thinner grip but the chunky is fine. You can stretch them to a certain extent to slim them a little. The racer edge is my favourite but unless you take care of them they tear so easily and I was changing them every couple of months. The chunky seems to cope better.

The most tactile grips I've ever known, so lovely and soft!

Cheers Anthony, I've just noticed that there's only 2mm between them but I suppose it must make a difference or they wouldn't bother.

I've just ordered some racers edge ones for my Jones bar, to replace the now worn Ergon grips. I'll let you know how I get on if you can wait a few days :)

Keep an eye out for these in future, heard rave reviews of the bar tape for Rough stuff, but it is pricy.

I have ESI chunkies on my jones bars in the longer length and absolutely love them. I find them much better at relieving hand pain than my ergons because they absorb vibration so much better.
I have quite girly hands and find the chunky version are fine.

I also have lizard skins tape on the crossbar and front loop of the jones and it's also fantastic stuff. Great grip, great shock absorbtion.

Stu. I've got some racers edge that I can post to you if you want to try them out? I decided that while I like ESIs, my manhands(tm) needed chunkies ;-)
