New shelter time!
I thought I’d post a few pictures, it’s very exciting, for at least
My new ZPacks Altaplex, after seeing Scott’s Plex I’d been hankering after one. The deschutes was a good first step but after getting eaten in Spain a full bugnet was one of my requirements, the sewn in Bathtub was another pull. Around 440g
I’ve around 10” clearance at each end of this large sized überlight mat and loads of room above my feet and head.
The cat cut fly pitches really easily, chomping at the bit to try it in the wild.

We got the pole length right then Steve?

Re: New shelter time!
Looks great Steve, what's the headroom like? Surprised there's so much room inside for a proper sized mat. Would be great news for me if it wasn't so expensive...!

Re: New shelter time!
Spot on without the extension, I could use the extra 2” if I needed a bit more air flow. There’s a good angle down to the internal mesh.
Nice one

Re: New shelter time!
Loads of room, it’s got much steeper walls than the plexamid or deschutes, even without an lifter there’s little chance of bag/face hitting the wall.

Yep, once granny has been sold I might join you . If anything it seems to have too much headroom, but that's probably camera angle plus me being a shortarse. Is the 440 excl pole n pegs (n lines?)? Their wsite says 437 for 'the shelter' so presume so?

Re: New shelter time!
They're great shelters, I love mine. Mine's the light green version though, the camo looks much better imho. It might be a bit darker inside too, I have to put something over my eyes because I don't like being woken up too early by daylight.

Yes bloody expensive, but cheap compared to hotels which won’t have such nice views
440g excluding pole and pegs, I popped my mat, shelter, pole and pegs into the little Acepac accessory pouch Total inc 1250g with my Rab mythic 200 I’m looking at 1680g I can squeeze the bag into my frame bag saving another 400g by not using a seat pack.

Succinctly put. Has always been my view too. Although Mrs Perrin doesn't always see eye-to-eye on that for some reason.BigdummySteve wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 3:38 pm Yes bloody expensive, but cheap compared to hotels which won’t have such nice views

Re: New shelter time!
The light was one of the reasons I went for the camo version, that and it’s a little less conspicuous. I’m hoping the sheen dies down a bit with use, it’s a little shiny. The Cumbrian wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 3:32 pm They're great shelters, I love mine. Re: New shelter time!
Back when I got mine, my thought was more that if I'm in the middle of nowhere and the SPOT gets used, I can be seen easily. There's been many times I've wished for the camo version though. Nice pull fella.

Aye rich, approximately one Brompton, I’m unlikely to be jumping on public transport in London in the near future so alls good, shaving 1/2 kg off the bike would cost considerably more. I justify it on account of only having one bike, it’s like an only child
