Is it still a Bank holiday?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Feels weird with the Towers being quiet, no smell of bacon cooking or burbling of brewing tackle. Obviously the yard should now be starting to fill up with faces and any available fence or wall should have a loaded bike leaning against it. Anyway, is today still a Bank holiday or have we given up on the notion of such things?

Bank Holiday Friday? It was always 1st Monday in May but that was too Socialist for our current (UK) government.

There's a Friday every week, but isn't the bank holiday next Friday?

Maybe it's a good job it has been postponed Stu, you'd be panicking by midday today and nobody had turned up...

Takes the prize for the most confusing thread ever on Here  . Mon, Fri, Fri, Mon, B/Hol, 1st, 8th, Fri, Mon. Me head's spinning. Think I might go back to bed and start again.

Yes it's a fiesta here, Mayday is always celebrated on the 1st of May, if that's a Sunday, tough luck. Nothing happening though as we're still on lockdown, there are police roadblocks to prevent people from outside the area visiting their holiday homes for the long weekend. However tomorrow we can go out on bikes for the first time in 7 weeks, provided you stay within your municipality. If that municipality has fewer than 5,000 population, there's no restriction on time of day. So I've now got 60km2 to play in which has 2 tarmac roads. Looks like the mountainbike will be favourite.
