Know what you mean. How very dare I  . Just sampling this rather off-the-wall beverage. As supplied to all new entrants at the pearly gates presumably. Not entirely convinced about fruit-in-beer (apologies to the whole of Belgium) but it's quite toothsome.

I don't know why I'm heckling fruit beers - look at the one I had before that! 8-| . I mean what's wrong with Red Barrel?

Plenty of good beers in cans these days. Added bonuses of lighter weight, won't cover your campsite in broken glass should accidents happen, pack down very small for taking your litter home.

Reg, although I share you lack of enthusiasm for novelty beers there are a few good citrus IPA’s around , Elvis Juice is quite nice ( perhaps one bottle very cold) it’s got a hint of grapefruit.

I am jealous of your lovely garden!
Thanks

You wouldn’t be quite so jealous if you had to look after it. I begrudge every moment I have to spend keeping it. And the veg plot. Why do I do that? All that work to save practically no money and then I have to beg people to take some off my hands. Hmpf! It’s my own fault - I didn’t have to do anything at it when it was a jungle

While getting milk this morning I Found a decent (mongoose maybe) BMX frame with 3 piece crank left out for the scrap man.
Brought it home to use as a project with the kids.
Proper chuffed :-bd

No I know it isn't.

I've just spent a very productive 20 minutes simply watching the rain from our back bedroom window.

I've never understood statements like "I'm moving to country X cos the British weather is crap".

Our varied but generally very benign, the odd recent flood excepted, meteorological conditions are one reason I'm happy enough here, and one of the main reasons I love being out there bikepacking. Any weather, and any thing, can happen during one's ride here.

There's something to be said though for being able to commute to work for 9 months of the year in glorious sunshine without much concern of rain.

Brilliant Dave! Got a couple of 'em, but also just struck me that you could earn on the side as a John Simms stand-in:

Other reasons to be cheerful
My mother is out of intensive care after 12 days :-bd

ZPacks will soon be sending me an Altaplex in camo DCF bringing my sleeping kit down to 1.5kg

A little drop of claret, anything that rocks :-bd

ZPacks Altaplex
- blimey, that's a bit of a Friday treat! Get it pitched this evening and let's have a look. 440g + pole? Need a BBB World's Lightest to do it justice really. Poor old Tele, you've got a new squeeze now  .

It’s not here yet, was too excited and indeed cheery to wait.

Should be a nice shelter, loads of room and bathtub floor with plus bug netting. Tent, bag and mat 1255g plus pole and pegs. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to pack that lot in without a seat pack for summer outings (remember them?) which will cut another chunk :-bd
