Stayed at 104kg, still pretty inactive, as soon as I can sort the
Logistics out, hopefully bike commuting is a go

Keep it up everyone, it might start to get harder if we're forced indoors in the near future but chin up - there's a few opportunist bike shops offering deals on turbo's and rollers, pop them in the garden next to the hedge

I've been stuck in doors so no huge shock on the weight gain.

I've no f*©king idea how much I weigh today and I don't want to know

After six weeks of crappy spine induced inactivity I'm now in the first (of many, many, many) week(s) of lockdown induced inactivity.

Tits!

I'll drag my festering turd of a carcass onto some industrial scales soon and note the numbers here but it ain't gonna be pretty :-bd

Pump track build in the garden? I reckon if you use a small spade and do it manual that will get you fit

My back is the only reason that the above isn't already a realty! :-bd

Weigh day tomorrow for me after almost 14 days of fasting 16 hours a day and cycling locally a bit. It will probably be the same...

Edit: same.

Steady away now. gradual loss.
However, I am literally eating nothing I want and exercising everyday. Cant see how I could do more and doesn't feel hugely sustainable to be honest. I'll keep going for now.

I've defo lost weight. Not sure how as I'm not cycling to work for the past week (on hols before we get busy). Pr9bably my appetite not being the same but the way I've measured it is that my belly ain't sticking out as much. Missus called me a (wrongway round) tortoise yesterday though  ...

Goes to check....

85.7kg last Fridayish of Feb
84.7kg 6/3/2020
82.2kg 27/3/2020 (wow... I always knew stress knocks off weight but this is something else. Never been this low)

The lack of exercise and constant access to snacks is really starting to show, but at least I finally get to go out on Monday and we've managed to make enough space for the treadmill in the garage so should be able to get on top of it now.

Up 2kg to just under 107, eating too many carbs as a result of the current
Situation as we/be got rice/spuds etc, hopefully should sort itself out
Shortly, still working as key worker but bike commuting still not sorted

14/02/20 - 70.5kg
----------------
20/03/20 - 65.0kg (-1.0kg)
27/03/20 - 66.4kg (+1.4kg)

Target: 63kg (June 13th)

Still sick. Muscle recovered since the accident basically all gone now. Has got to the point where my walking is affected. Right thigh ~ 3" smaller than the left one. Diet is terrible as I long since ran out of fresh food and am continuing to self-quarantine.

I'm now 92.5. Stress related? Who knows. Maybe it's because I don't nip to the shop for food unnecessary any more. Chocolate and beer have taken a step back, to save money where I can.

I'm foooooking ma-hoo-sive!

No need to destroy any scales to know that!

Just emerging from a period of feeling very, VERY down about things and starting to monitor what I'm shoveling in as well as finding motivation to sit through the misery of the turbo trainer again so hopeful of shifting some girth by next week.

I'll pop on the scales later just so I can verify any loss next Friday.....

So.....it's official, I'm a monster!

120.2kg - whoooosh!

9 weeks of forced inactivity coupled with compensatory comfort eating :-bd

Luckily the future is looking rosy with my back fully healed (ha!) and things returning to normal with the zombie apocalypse (ha!) - arse!

In an hour I was scheduled to meet a buddy at Verona airport to go ride the Veneto Gravel Event route.

Weirdly that trip isn't now happening

Anyone got anything positive on the horizon as it's sh1t sandwich all the way down as far as I can see..... :-bd

Positive, for me anyway Gairy

Seriously though, its very difficult to retain positivity in light of the current situation. I have/has/was worked / working quite hard to get myself into 'good enough shape' to enjoy a few specific events or trips. Primary amongst those were Dales divide and Tuscany trail.
I'm trying to forget those now and focus on things later in the year. Its tough though as the start of rides would have begun.

I've stopped the steady rise up at least, now I need to try and get some exercise in with kids that need constant supervision and don't sleep.

Stuck. Eating healthy, low sat fat, lowish carbs. Cardio every day.
Not sure what else to do. Perhaps its all turning to muscle

Not sure what went on there but the kids have been full on this week so no exercise and there must have been lots of unconscious snacking.

No flipping way I'm getting on any scales anytime soon.

I've literally never felt so fat, useless and hopeless.

My back is now so bad again that I can't do much of anything (not that any meaningful exercise is an option anyway).

I can't take the medication I usually take to reduce the inflammation as it'll compromise my immune system for when the plague gets me :-bd

Day 70 of being bed and/or house-bound for me and I'm genuinely losing the will to carry on.

Arse!

Well done Dave.m. its slowly falling off.

I'm not getting on my scales either Gairy. Not been for a ride in weeks (seems lile months) and today I did consider doing some pressups...

Oh wel, maybe a quick ride up a gruesome mtb climb later today. Already told the missus to take out my water bottle and hope I can find rest of my gear...

Right then,

Here's my back rehabilitation (v2.0) and weight loss plan of action that came into effect this morning (4 days ago for the daily physio sessions) as these things weirdly aren't solving themselves and the world of medicine seems to have its hands a bit full to give me much assistance right now.....

- somewhere very close to zero beer for the foreseeable.

- zero sugary sh1te.

- very low carb eating.

- thrice daily back and core exercises.

- at least 100 (virtual) miles (160 of the finest virtual kilometres) cycling per week.*

- short daily physio session for my back (with a local guy who's also stuck on lockdown so it's expanded our sphere of human interactions by 1 but if not then I'm going to be crippled again any day now).

Let's see how it goes.... :-bd

*achieved via 10 hours per week on the turbo trainer - using my easy going tarmac average pace of 16kph as a frame of reference - not über scientific or accurate but ultimately that's not important

Did my hour on the turbo last night, physio this morning, exercises, 16km of real riding (round trip to do shopping etc...) and another group turbo session this evening.

I'll get there.....

06-03-20 - 116.5kg
28-02-20 - 115.9kg
21-02-20 - 116.1kg
12-02-20 - 117kg
Beginning of year - ~118kg

Ok, so after the my most active week since my buggered back incident I've managed to pretty much get back to where I started 🥴

Just gonna keep doing what I've been doing, hopefully manage it with some consistency and progress in both the spinal and girth departments :-bd
