I'd not use Gorilla tape personally... proper helitape (there's a brand thats spoken hihhly of on the forums but a fraction of the price of the 3m stuff... worked well for me) or equivalent is probably best.

I'll take a look when I get home which one I ordered (its the one I mentioned above) and the good thing...

Clear Gorilla tape yellows very quickly and is a proper PITA because of how sticky it is. I've used 3M stuff before and 'twas a joy to fit.

The gorilla tape also comes in a version with serrated edges to make it easier to tear and that really picks up dust! It's also much harder to apply from a reel than from backing paper.

I needed something in a hurry and used tesa clear repair tape. It's wasn't bad but proper copter tape is better.

If you're looking on amazon search for ETC tape.

Just dug out some I bought ages ago. It's from biketart.com. GORDON BENNETT!! It's £30!!! ('was £33'). I couldn't possibly have paid that. Have I got a Salsa or something and not realised?

Wildcat used to do the genuine 3M copter tape. But they changed the price (it trebled) and the minimum order quantity (10 fold increase, iirc). At the time, we couldn't quite justify sinking £1500+ into sticky tape that we didn't sell all that often :???:

However, try some of this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/3m-ventureshie ... tureshield
Beth has it on her bike, and it's thinner than genuine 'copter tape, but fine for protection against frame bags and hasn't yellowed at all in 4+ years. Back then, it wasn't a 3M product, so it seems they've bought the rights since.
