Fatfighters 2020

Post by FLV »

Morning girthfolk...

I keep wondering if this thread will pop back up but it hasnt... so here it is.

I'm sure I'm not alone, but here's my situation. I'm overweight and not particularity happy with how much. I rode a fair bit last year (relatively speaking) and originally joined the 2019 thread but didnt get very far.

I've also realised that my default eating isn't healthy. Prime example today, got on the scales this morning and didn't like the number. Two hours later i'm tucking into a sausage and egg sandwich for breakfast... I think its as much habit as anything now.

So I've decided to have another go at it, I'll check every friday for updates (metric if you can) and will do graphs and everything. Feel free to state a goal, or not to. Feel free to suggest a competitive element if that helps.

So without further ado.. here we go.

Weigh in one for me, 104.1kg (feck me..)

To quote Gairy (from 2019)...

I'm still trying to lose weight after my surgery / recovery. Doing OK (taken off 5kg so far), but I've still got a fair way to go.

Currently: 70.5kg
Target: 63kg (June 13th)

Bollocks. I was hoping this wouldn't pop up again.

Having got down to my target lady year I have, almost inevitably, gone backwards (upwards?) over the festive season and what I'd already decided would be a bit of a veg(out)anuary.

I did find the discipline/incentive of this thread useful last year though so I'll join in again.

14/02 75.3kg

Target (same as last year) 72Kg.

94.6 today.

IF I get on the TNR:

85.7 would be grand.

IF I don't 88.9kg

I need to stop drinking cake and eating beer though...

Feb is a write off for me as hardly any outdoor riding. 3-4 times a week on Zwift though.

I'm in! :-bd

Was 117kg last Friday and will do another weigh-in as soon as I can muster the strength to lift the scales down from the top shelf.

Still out of action for the foreseeable with my back but currently not drinking and watching what I eat so hopeful of a sniff of loss even before I can exercise again.

Good luck everyone!!!

 . That'd be a good way to get the weight off though. Apparently. Or so a friend tells me. Mrs Perrin just tells me to eat more lettuce  .

I'll be in again. Hoped someone might break and run it :-bd

I'm still officially not supposed to be doing much, but see my cardiologist 2 weeks today to get cardiac MRI results and a way forward. Obviously more reason to be watching my diet, but I've been failing at that

In the meantime I'll weigh in (and cry) on Friday...

Have taken things a bit too fast this week, left myself feeling like crap given the exercise load I've got at the mo.

Never simple is it.

Count me in...

Already been on it this year, started at 107.8kg and down to 104.1 this morning, ideally want to get as close to 90kg as i can, as for me that is skinny....

Been following this program for mountain bikers, 2 lots of weights work, 2 lots of intervals and a metabolic circuit each week, as new job means i have a gym opposite and have been going in lunch hour which has worked well, so whilst i've not lost a great deal of weight, i have put on some lean muscle and lost 3 inches from waist already. Worth giving a try especially over winter as most of the program is about addressing imbalances caused by lots of riding at first with lightish weights.

Right then, let's 'ave it!!!

Here are some numbers:

Beginning of year - ~118kg
12-02-20 - 117kg
21-02-20 - 116.1kg

Goal is initially 100kg (but I'd love to get down to 95kg and be able to ride a bike at pace again).

Route to weight loss:

- Day-to-day LCHF but without militancy or any real programme being followed.
- No habitual booze and very little booze full stop (currently +3 weeks dry and not missing it at all)
- Ride more! :-bd
- Run some

But first I need to fix my back issues (physio thinks another month before I'll be back to where I was and then a lifetime of being careful).

Another gentle 'spine test tootle' today which is much needed!!!

Good luck everyone.....

14.2.20: 86.3kg
21.2.20: 85.3kg

Probably some virtual losses there as I weighed dry this morning and post breakfast last week. However it’s a nice drop to see - good motivation.

21/02/20 - 68.7kg

Too much, will need to tweak things a bit.

110.2kg

Who knew doing bugger all (as I'm not supposed to) and burying you face in a pile of junk (as it's bloody depressing) would do that

Best kick myself up the arse then...
