Right old mix of bikes and kit there. I hope those with tents have got some decent pegs with them. Here's a taste of what folk are riding...

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Not sure if I was going all that way to ride I would trust ultra cheap bits as Michael Collins is. Still he got to luna orbit and back ok.

As cheap as possible, Kinesis AT alloy frame, carbon fork, cable discs. As budget allows, the highlight is the SP dynamo hub rigged to an eBay special USB converter, then an Exposure dynamo, a £50 rear wheel, free tyres (someone didn’t want them!)

Holy crap! I'm off work ill and have been making a spreadsheet of a "money no object" bike. That's after watching YouTube for most of the day - The Length Of Time. Inside The Tour Divide
, Ride The Sweary Dave-ide (Tour Divide 2019), I Just Want To Ride - Lael Wilcox and the 2019 Tour Divide and GBDuro 2019 – EF Gone Racing.
There's someone doing this race on the same NS Bike RAG+ that I've got. 700c wheels too! That's a bit of a reality check, I really should get over myself a bit more...

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Watch out for Bas Rotgans. He rode Cabin Fever on that setup last year and was very quick. He seems to be up front on the dots.
Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
How do the dots work, are all the trackers reporting with the same frequency? Sofiane appears to be all over the place for example, half the time there's no label on the map or anything, it's a bit confusing.

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
The trackers report their position every ten minutes or so (depends on unit and package) but that is based from when each rider turned on their tracker and started the process. So if rider A started their tracker at 0800 then you'd get pings at 0800, 0810, etc. If rider B started theirs at 0754 then you'd get pings at 0754, 0804, etc. Then there's the times that the tracker fails to transmit its location so the rider appears not to have moved for twenty or thirty minutes then suddenly jumps forward by 50km when the tracker makes contact.

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Is Christan Meier really 24km out in front?
Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Looks like it, tracker's moving same rate as others. 15% ahead of Jay P And Sofiane Sehili - someone may be peaking early in the season!
Edit, or not, maybe he's just fast -

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Well, well, I was in Mollet Dels Valles where Belle Cycles are made this afternoon. We're in Barcelona as MrsPB is running the Barca 1/2 marathon tomorrow and I had a spin on the bike north of the city. I seem to remember Kiko Belle from a ride I did last year. The air quality here is rubbish compared to where we live.
Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
There’s a classic Rock Lobster with v brakes on the rear. Nice. Complete contrast to some of the bikes there
Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
^ and a Breezer with v brakes, lovely bike. Was admiring it in the square before the last TNR start.

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
There's 2 rock lobsters in there I think ?
Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Yep, two. A few v brakes, quite a few trek pro calibers, salsas (cutthroat or Fargo) and quite a lot of bomb tracks with a few spesh too. Nice mix of bikes, lots of aero and drop bars

Re: Atlas Mountain Race.
Anyone got an idea how much of the route is off-road ie not tarmac? I'm quite surprised by the seemingly low numbers of mountainbikes present.
