Mud Tyres

Post by lune ranger »

This is probably going to be a bad idea but I have decided to ride a modified version of the Wessex Ridgeway in a couple of weeks time. I have a pass organised with the Home Office and there is no going back. I shall be making my way through the gloop from Salisbury to the coast at Charmouth over a day and a half in early February.
Can anyone recommend an XC mud specific 29er tyre to go tubeless on narrowish (i22) rims. I don't care if it rides like a pile of shizzle on the road - I need as much grip as possible.

What brand is that?
I’m a little bit afraid of what I might see if I just Google #beaver :o

"I’m a little bit afraid of what I might see if I just Google #beaver :o". Aye. I did it and apparently they "chew wood to a pulp". Painful way to spend an evening in my book.

They're Maxxis. I think they have an even more aggressive tyre than that as well?

Edit, the Shorty is the full mud tyre but they are quite heavy. My mates use them locally in the winter but that was mainly riding downhill.
