Ta Stu, yes look forward see you in Jan. This time it'll be straightest line to a hostelry methinks.

Currently toddling along towards Crewe. As per last year it's amusing that it's faster to go 50% further north then back to Stretton rather than direct via Brum.

Looks like a fair number of bailouts across all the winter bivvies from the original set of contestants  . Anybody'd think the weather's crap or summink. Got me new Dexshell Midnight Runners on so we'll see how they perform. Just gotta make sure we keep away from Bridges....

Have a good one guys - “enjoying” traffic on the M5 ATM,

Have rung the pub a couple of times to cancel my booking for tonight but no answer I’m afraid

I've very fond memories of last year's trip

Yep missed ya Ben. Well it was certainly 'interesting', albeit not quite as 'interesting' as last year.

Turns out that suddenly-icy roads are not compatible with the generally accepted upright method of piloting a velocipede. TWO big prangs. Brand new jacket totally shredded to ribbons. Wonder if Marmot will accept as 'fair wear and tear'?

Have nipped back into Jemima's for another brew while awaiting train.

Poor Reg, it looks pretty terminal. Made it back to Cardiff just waiting for the wifey to pick me up. Thank Reg, Pickers, Taylor, BDS, Paramart and the Burtys for another great weekend and I might bump into you in January

Aye, fookin brand new as well. Still, if you're going to trash something do it big time.

As happens, just managed to order another exactly the same, at 50% orf so at least that's something.

Maybe I could wear the first one underneath the new one?

Bad luck uncle reg, but better than being under a car “always look on the bright side of life, ‘de duh, de duh de duh de duh’

And on a more practical note, slap a few pieces of tenacious tape on, (buy another in about 5 years)

Or is it too late ?

In which case sell your old patched one to one of the many tramps on here...

Well that was a bloody good weekend!
Weather proved interesting, but then it is December I s’pose....
Sorry to see the state of your jacket Reg, You should take solace in the fact that having crashed in front of me twice, I managed to not land on top of you!

Nice suggestion Eric but sadly I think there'd be more tape than jacket  . Bruises patched, dented pride takes longer. What a rank amateur  .
