I haven't read it yet as it's stuck in my work email, and I'm off this week, but it's an easy quiz. Was painting window frames yesterday with the Ramones playing - I was quite amused as the chickens were hanging around as well (yes, some Stranglers also), they must be rock chicks..
That's the names of the next chickens sorted, Sheena, Ramona, DeeDee (I know)......

I saw them in Bristol on the Animal Boy Tour. Was quite a low stage and we got there early to get near the front. We had a great system of taking it in turns to get beers while a few of us held our mosh places. Next to us was a bloke with a girlfriend who was in what was probably the prettiest dress I've ever seen at a punk gig. She was properly made up and looked like a cindy doll. We go talking to them as the crowd began to gather. She was looking nervous and my mate Dean said to him that it might be better to go nearer the back as it was going to go mental. The boyfriend got all arsey about this, he basically put his arms either side of her on the stage and told Dean to "fack off he could look after her". Dean just shrugged. The band came on and it went absolutely mental. I probably hit the deck three times in the first song. As I got up one more time I saw a set of stockinged feet and a ruffled dress upside down heading towards the back of the hall being chased by the boyfriend. They'd lasted one song. She'd been swept up into an accidental crowd surf after a mattering front of stage. I still wonder if they are together.

I always wondered why Mrs Perrin's old mates call her Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. Looks like I've finally found out why.

Yeah, they were good live, Dave.
Saw them on the Too Tough to Die Tour at Rock City Nottingham.
That would be in my top 5 gigs as well as Kraftwerk.
Good days......!

Ooh yeah, they made me deaf too - possibly not helped by the full can of beer someone threw of a balcony that hit me on the forehead. Happy days or daze perhaps.like Motorhead in the late 80's.

Re: So sad ...
I didn't notice the comp but I did read the dodgy stove review, hoping for more explosions! I think I always read them but usually do a first pass for immediately interesting stuff and then drop back later to finish off.
PS - seeing the lyrics I thought it was Prince (which surprised me given Stu's tastes). Hey ho
Oh, and I don't really do comps, always assume someone else has already won.

I read the "Hey Ho Let's Go!" and immediately thought "Ramones" (and actually read it with the same stress and pauses as in the song) but didn't notice the asterisk.
Reading as if it were a Prince track is interesting.

First time I saw them was 1980 at De Montfort Hall - No ear wax left after one song.
My daughter still has the t-shirt and uses it as a pyjama top -What's left of it.

There was a quiz in the newsetter?
Didn't spot that...
Having said that, wouldn't have had a clue...

Go on... tell us. What was the prize that we missed ...
I think the stove thingyjig you reviewed was a firepot maple (or FireMaple if same as my double walled tea mug)... If its worth anything then I'd like to add, although my mug doesn't lend itself to blowing up much, it is, well, a bit sh*t... At least the have some sort of quality control standards and judging from this, its not hit/miss

Re: So sad ...
Just checked... it is indeed the same crappy company. Whilst we're on the subject of mugs n cooking, my ti pot is also a bit subStandard (you guessed it, twas the bargain ones from PlanetX). I only realised how substandard (discoloyred from inside and scratches too easy) it is when I saw Wotsits/Jase ti pot/mug which would obviously have been used more than mine but still looked fresh...

People with this sort of musical taste might enjoy Stereo Underground on BBC Sounds, it's pretty eclectic

Me too. Even if I'd have noticed the asterisk and the quiz, I would have thought it was too obvious and probably a trick questionI read the "Hey Ho Let's Go!" and immediately thought "Ramones" (and actually read it with the same stress and pauses as in the song) but didn't notice the asterisk.
