At 1pm I put my pack raft in the Mawddach river and paddled to Barmouth under the rain and BB200 route bridge.
I faffed for an hour in between heavy down pours and now back I'm on the Mawddach Trail on my bike heading back to Penmaenpool at the junction where the BB200 joins it.
I've seen no one, not any of the BB300 riders who set off at first light, none of the racing snake BB200'ers. No one.

Looks like it's a tough route to get to the halfway point.

Expect swearing.

Weather update, no wind, high grey clouds and no rain at the moment.

Johnclimber over and out, see you at the finish in the morning
I swore once... at Stu.. straight after walking straight through my first deep river crossing  sorry stuart, it was a spur of the moment celebratory swear...

Just too offmy shoes n socks, did prayers, squeezed socks some more and put back on...

My and MarkW are at 56 miles remaining and bivvying around a farmers caterpillar truck :-bd

Bugeilyn was great, rode 98% of it :-bd

Ps. Rear brake totally borked. Was dodgy when I left, got it working a bit better part way through, now doesn’t work at all. Decent to Arthog undertaken carefully with front brake and clenched buttocks...
That’s a novel way to brake

Got a text from Cath at 11pm to say she was eating pizza 🍕 in Barmouth. Not sure of her strategy, will probably depend on the weather.

Well done Alex, that’s a decent time.

Saw Cath heading up the hill out of Barmouth. Was still riding strongly.

Not so much for the guy after her who was dead on his feet. I expect he ended up sleeping under someones hedge.

Has anyone heard from Cath?

I've not had a text, but then she might not have any signal.

Any of the 300ers back yet or are they still out in the washing machine? :???:

All the 300 finishes were back at the start before half 2, the better weather this year helped. We had sunshine on Saturday and only short periods of rain overnight.

I saw her first thing this morning (first light) on the southern section out of Coed y brenin. Andy L saw her on the road climb over to Corris, and Adrian B saw her on the climb up into Dyfi. She’s making progress, but sore leg(s) I think Adrian said, and she’s not slept. She should be nearly done now, but the Dyfi section is hard.

What was the tactic for the 300 generally? Did people get a few hours sleep or did most go straight through?

Lars, Pete, Sean and myself all rode through. I know Steve Large had a sleep. Not sure about Adrian but suspect he might of ridden through.

Right you lot,

Here's all of my un-edited un-watermarked photos, the good, the bad and the out of focus.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/25655510@ ... 1320078592

If you want a copy please help yourself,
On a laptop or PC - simply open up the photo and on the bottom right of the screen you should see an arrow pointing downwards towards a line, click on this arrow and chose the largest size then download it.
For on a phone you should see a V shape (on it's side) with 3 dots at each point on the bottom of the screen? If you do click on this shape, then click on save, chose "original" and away you go.
(if this doesn't work please let me know)

If you want one or two edited to make it look better (I can't work miracles  ) simple message me the photo number with your email address and I'll have a tweak of it and email it to you

Looks like Mark, Jase & Sharif are nearly home. Maybe already back when you factor spot lag?

Did Cath and Andrea get in OK?

Dunno about Andrea but Cath must have finished around 5-5:30, she's on her way home

Good stuff.
She's just rung - she's at Chester services getting some grub and maybe a nap. She said she was fine to Barmouth when she saw you then some time later her legs just went dead and any hill was a struggle on or off the bike.

Just got home. Everyone accounted for safe and sound ... and I got away with only 3 b'stards and a couple of tw@ts for the Dyfi section. My work here is complete.
