Cycle mag

Post by RIP »

Boner shirt (and boner!) on latest Cycling UK mag cover. Oh dear, we've really gone mainstream  . Sunday colour supplement cover next stop. Or maybe Time or National Geographic. .

Maybe a caption contest candidate?

Looking more closely, looks like a bit of fisticuffs taking place in the background! Great place! That really was a cracking/insane weekend with some great people. Only 2 months to go, get that snow/ice/wind/fog/rain booked in now :-bd .

Something in the Grauniad yesterday. We need a sort of ongoing 'what the press say about us' thread to collect these snippets. Then again these reports usually degenerate into us having a grumpy 'you're being elitist' or 'give them a break they're having fun' needlefest. Anyway it's too late now, I've mentioned it  . So, article is 'Two Wheels, No Rules'. Off to a good start there. "Best thing with BP is go where you fancy and take perils on the chin". Lovely stuff. "No rules". Nice. Then "you have options that don't make sense on foot". Ah. I'd personally modify that by just removing the "on foot" bit and having a full-stop instead  .

But, the very first sentence: "Bikepacking - exploring the wilderness on two wheels with your gear in panniers" - :o :o X_X  . I know, I know, they're having a nice time stop being elitist etc etc  .

Saw that Reg but I looked at the photo and moved on.
The headline says two wheels the photo shows three.
And no I am not trailerist.

On the photos in articles theme, I've noticed Cycle mag can be very 'p.c.' with the photos they publish. For example, a group photo might likely show a mix of bikes some with panniers and some with soft bags, both male and female riders, a rider not wearing a helmet, maybe an e-bike and a mix of cycle wear and casual wear; obviously not wishing to offend anyone (well, except maybe people offended by p.c.ness! )

p.s. nice little route Dave :-bd
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

I've been writing and photoing for the for a long time . They never state anything other than "some photos". I honestly think they usually just pick the best ones the contributor sends in.
