Many bothies are old farms or dwellings. On 1:25k OS maps most farms are named even if they're no longer farms. However, some will simply show as a building (they can be hard to spot) and exploration is key. Failing that - have a look on the MBA website.

1:50k maps are not much use in the pursuit of bothy spotting.

If it was a banana slug, it would have been yellow - but peel it, and it'll be black in no time.
