Anyone who's curious what it'd be like to ride with a towel rail handlebar on their bikepacking bike but balks at the cost of a genuine Loop Bar may be interested to note that Planet X have their Geoff Bar ripoff reduced to £15 (plus p&p) at the moment. Offer ends tomorrow (Monday) though.

Saw this sleeping bag on eBay - the seller has lots of them.
Brand new Mountain Warehouse extreme lightweight down bag.
Weight 840g - 250g of 75/25 grey duck down filling.
Not as light or warm as a Cumulus/Criterion but only at £65 would be a reasonable and cheap 2/3 season bag.

250g of poor quality down will probably be pushing the 3 season envelope Bridget. For another £25 you could buy something like a MH Hyperlamina which is warmer, not much heavier and might even pack smaller. It's also likely to be much higher quality with regard to manufacture. I should also add that I'm always somewhat bothered by the provenance of cheap down.

I saw one in the flesh and it barely lofted at all. I don't know why, cheap down maybe? Either way I passed on it and went for a synthetic bag instead. MH Lamina 35 btw.

As you say, poor quality down - 75/25 is a bit like down factory sweepings up, the FP will be very low, hence low loft. They've probably also being stored compressed for some time. Down's less fussy about that than synthetics but it still doesn't help. Add a heavy shell material and Bob's your uncle and fanny's yer best friend.

I haven't bought one - I am under no illusions, but when we first started we had £12 sleeping bags from Tesco, so something like this would have been a step up. Not everyone can afford another £25 on top of £65, especially if like me, you have to buy two every time. For summer use or a trip to Spain or France these would be warmer than a supermarket bag and weigh less.

I think if you're entering into the purchase with your eyes wide open as you would be then I believe that's true. I also believe many people wouldn't be and some might think that they've bought a quality item and find themselves somewhat disappointed.
