800 meters above sea level sits Bishkek, currently 16 degrees. @ 4.30am. At 111.9km, 3774m I can imagine that temperature may not be that tepid even in perfect weather.

I have the same bag, and it's light (circa 400g) but warm. With a set of base layers it's good for me down to 0deg or so. If I wear a down jacket also it can go lower.
So, it depends - how warm you sleep, how well fed you are, and how cold it is. He won't die, so it's probably fine......

You'd only be using it in an emergency at 3500m+, plan on bivi-ing lower down? Climbers have sat out worse with less. That bag's similar spec to my older PHD Minim Ultra. He'll probably be cold at some point, yes... I've used it with added clothing for sleeping at 1500-2000m and/or with snow about, below zero. OK for racing but not for touring comfort.

It does say that it's a 'custom' version. Maybe he's added extra down?

It's rated to 0C, as Steve says a lot depends on other factors as to how close to that (or below) an individual can comfortably get. If he's racing then there's no point in getting too comfy now is there? On a climbing expedition I've spent six nights above 6000m without a sleeping bag and I think I survived :???: (My rucksack and sleeping bag were helpfully dropped by someone  )

From talking to Shona about last year's edition I'd be more inclined to take a tent than a tarp - there's strong anabatic/katabatic winds so you set up the tarp and overnight the wind direction changes 180degs. One of those cases where going for the lightest setup can work against you.

Interesting to see Stu Taylor's bike from that list on Bikepacking.com - he had a play around on my Jones bars equipped bike for the first time in Tyndrum in May so obviously liked them enough to use a set for this.

I kind of like the way that positions the bag, hope those clamps work well and don't slip though.

A stabilized seat pack - I have assumed this from the pictures as I don't speak Italian.

Total ripoff, I’ve a Mr Fusion, great bit of kit. I had a full custom set of bags from Scott for my dummy excellent stuff. It’s sad he’s not doing bespoke kit anymore, revelate quality but custom fitted/ designed. I’d order bags for my Fargo in a heartbeat if possible.

Looking at the butterfly thingies they do look very nice, a great solution for dropbar users.....but couldn’t you achieve the same with a set of aerobars

Anyone fancy a anything cage HB harness, little use? Yours for 165 Euro :-bd
