Shimano GRX sub-compact 46-30 chainset for my gravel iron. Hopefully will reduce the amount of pushing when it's on bikepacking duties.

Some proper tubeless rim tape so I can have yet another go at making the CX tyres seal.

It's become a battle of wills. I shall not be beaten by the Riddlers!

Just showed the missus -as I simulataneuosly confessed I'd bought em and she commented as to 'so thats why your broke' - who telled me I'm being unreasonable. Tried to explain the 'seals, smooth stantions, oil leakage etc etc but gave up after 20 seconds.

I'm not being unreasonable am I (£200 were the forks and they do feel buttery smooth... and are rated highly with all metal internals and an rrp of around £600) :???:

It doesn't matter what you paid for them if the description isn't accurate then you have every right to question it. I would do the same, contact the seller and take it from there.

I kind of agree with you, but if they were a bargain and similar forks go for thhe same or more, what will you gain by raising a dispute / returning them? They'll work fine - is the stanchion part of the air seal (most are not)?

If you like them, they work ok, and you are happy with the price, fit them and enjoy the ride.

Life's too short to get stressed out over a tiny nick :-bd

Thanks Slarge and Composite... I didnt know the air seal are seperatr from the seals/stantions.

They do indeed feel good on the push down on the floorboards test

Have messaged the chap (explaining that I understand it was probs an error but...) and will see what he says. Yeah, if they are gonna last well (and like Slarge says) the nick shouldn't affect the seal over time. Then hopefully fit and forget

Yeah, I love it. Was a pressie to myself for my 50th a couple of years ago.

Looked at various other alternatives but settled on the Escapade due to Cotic's MTB background.

Also Cotic are only based only a few miles from where I live so are my local brand.

Bought it mainly because I ride a fair bit of gravel but did the Transcambrian on it last month. Also got a Bfe which is great fun too.

Rock shox dropper post....
Been fancying a dropper for the fat bike as I was getting fed up of swapping the one on the Jones across. Looked at Thompsons but all the SH ones were either gubbed or dear or both and new ones just too eye-watering. Anyway CRC were doing the RS ones for £145 with an extra tenner off so I figured it would be worth a punt....

That's rather nice that is Stu!!

I just received a pair of wheels - Carbonal rims, CX ray spokes and Bitex boost hubs. 1370g of loveliness from Spokesman wheels who's done a few sets for me over the years. They'll be going on the Epic, which I am steadily upgrading to silly spec....

Interested in your impressions of the Fat Paw grips. I've got hands like t-bone steaks and they could be just the thaaaang for my trail bike.

Only had a short ride so far but first impressions are good. They're big very big, they make the ESI chunky grips I usually use feel small, I wear XL/XXL glovesfor some scale. They're on par with ESI for comfort, and a damn site easier to fit. Only time will tell but I think I've found my new favourite grip,
