For the BB200 2019, what bike are you considering on taking to Llanbrynmair this October?

I'd wait and see what Stu comes up with

2016 was fine on a rigid hardtail, 2018 I used a FS.

I'll be stashing spare fully-charged batteries along the way and carrying a rechargeable chainsaw and some wire cutters in the panniers, fitting flotation tyres and a walk-assist mode.
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Fully rigids all I've got Allen so thats what it'll have to be fella. Ive noticed with the 2.5ish (actual measured width) on the carbon fork its good with most paths abd tracks. The only stuff it gets uncomfy over is where there's lots of slabs with continuous gaps in the middle or riased/lowerd edges. The hands end up taking a little bit of a beating

I decided that BB200 was a step too far this year in my recovery so I won't be there.... but if I was I would have been on my carbon 29er. Would have waited for the route to decide if it was rigid or as hardtail. Probably would have been hardtail though as I have just had to fork serviced and it's buttery.

A bivi bag, and a summer sleeping bag; because both are in the rules.
If I need to use either then I have a serious problem and have likely pressed the SOS button on my inReach.

Straight through isn’t too bad
Have learnt from previous straight through BB200’s; last year was a test, but mainly due to all the damn punctures.
Proplus, a VERY bright headtorch help, and a sense of humour (at 2/3am whilst trying to find the track by helmet light) helps a lot.
Straight through is mainly about mental attitude.
Last year carried a tent and “proper” sleeping bag; not doing that again.

My only bike. Stooge not sure whether it'll be running 29er or 27.5+ probably plus for comfort.

This one, and it will probably have this kit on it.

Although I might put the seat pack on and put the compulsory bivi kit in that which will free up space in the bar bag, I can then put my waterproof in that, and a spare heavy duty waterproof, a backup spare waterproof and maybe a just in case extra waterproof

I'll be riding through as well, I love riding through the night :-bd I mainly do these events as an excuse to ride through. If you just go out and ride through the night for fun when not at an event the men in white coats come to take you away

Thank you for giving me a smile this morning Sean  :-bd - both paragraphs. The 'white coats' bit is a little close for comfort though cos we all know in this caper they're always hiding for us just around the corner  .

Seems like a lot of kit. Why not just one outfit?

Breathable? More like heavy-breathable I reckon. People pay good money to wear things like that in dungeons. Erm so my friend tells me.

Somewhat surprisingly, yes! They make a range of suits using Gore Tex.

More of an issue is how much of a faff it will be to get off when you need the toilet, but perhaps you just leave it on and 'go' anyway, which might explain why the bottom of the trousers don't appear to have the sealed cuffs like the sleeves

The fastest, most racy bike I can find.

But failing that the Vir Fortis with a super light and skinny XC wheelset and Jones/Tribars. My version of a TD racing Cutthroat.
