Let's hope it's not going back to a few years ago when it was a regular occurrence on different trails
We had fishing line at neck height between some trees over the chase( on the TC trails) which weren't even multi use trails

yes we had one our way but seems to have stopped the planks of wood with nails - they were more dangerous to walkers than cyclists as they were hidden but punctures to tyres are better than punctures to feet.

Seems to just paint no cycling on the gates now.

Still worrying someone would set out to do deliberate harm that could have some pretty serious consequences

The thing that bothers me most is the cowardly nature of it. If you've got a problem with cyclists / a group of cyclists / whoever, then at least have the bollox to confront them about it. This is just indiscriminate and as John says, is likely to inflict harm on walkers, dogs, horses or wildlife not just cycling scum.
