BBQ Pizza Stone

Post by dlovett »

As there are lot of outdoor fans here can anybody recommend a good pizza stone you can put on top of a bbq or open fire? I had a cheap one but it only lasted about three pizzas.

We use the bio light and it’s grill all the time so it would be great to be able to cook pizza on it.

Cheers

I use the lid (upside down) from a massive Petromax Dutch oven for that job. Works a treat.

Eye watering cost but made of so much cast iron as to be practically indestructible.
Dozens of interesting uses - on a strictly by permission of the land owner basis - for open fire ( :o ) cooking, baking, roasting, blah

The kids on Dutch oven is dished, it's yours completely flat?

I have an uuni so can't help here I'm afraid, I do recommend it though

Flat with a lip around the outside. Not a perfect pizza stone but very serviceable

Interesting.

My phone blooming autocorrected my text above. I meant the lid of my dutch oven, rather than all dutch oven!

Flat with a lip would probably be more useful as a skillet than the dished one I have, which is apparently also usable as a frying pan

Having used my dutch oven on a fire for ages, need to fix that this summer I reckon

Yep. We use ours as a skillet quite a lot.
The bigger ones hold a lot in the lid.
