Shelter Help.

Post by Escape Goat »

Hi

Got a conundrum. I have a tarp and tarvek or a SMD LE that isn't sealed.

I'm heading up to the Lakes to ride thedistance.cc brevet style ride and I think it will be WET!

There's next to no chance I can seal the seams on the lunar in time...

What would a fellow boner suggest?

Many thanks!

Lots of reports on the SMD shelters (in user reviews) state that people have managed a dryish night without sealing. So much so that I was convinced (that had i bought one) I'd not bw in too muhc a hurry to get it sealed

Never sealed either of my SMD shelters and I've not drowned yet. Worst you'll get is a few drips.
May the bridges you burn light your way

I have t=yet to seam seal any tent i have ever owned - never noticed anything much - tbh if it rains so much it gets through the seams the material will be "wetting out" anyway.

You're more likely to drown from the condensation inside your Lunar Solo than a few drips through the seams. They are very tightly sewn.
I'm just going outside ...

I've only had condensation once in my Lunar Solo - and that was a beach camp in the haar. Maybe it's just always windy where I camp
