The Great WRT Bake Off - a plea

Post by The Boss »

As you know I am not shy of doing a bit of baking for the BBB events but this year's WRT has surpassed previous entry numbers to over 200 :o

I will be baking the usual lemon drizzle cakes along with sultana cakes and chocolate brownies (brownies are suitable for vegan and gf). My request to you good people that have entered the WRT is to get your baking hats on and help swell the cake mountain.

All I ask is that it is homemade and not any of the cakes I've already mentioned. Flapjack, biscuits, anything sweet is suitable. Ideally - bring it on a disposable plate, covered with clingfilm to save having to return cake tins, plates etc.

Please state your intended cake on this thread so I can work out how much there will be in total.

Diolch yn fawr in advance
Dee :X

Hello Dee,

My daughter makes vegan cakes, so if there is any demand for that option, I'll get her to make one up.

Just re-read your post, I'll get her to do a vegan one anyway, different to the ones you bake.

Hi, I can bring along a spicy ginger tray bake thingy, assuming I can sneak it in without Simon noticing and scoffing it all en route

Those all sound wonderful, thank you all for offering.

Matt you are a man of ideas but if you do get stuck, you can always 'bara an idea' (say it with Taylor's accent) from previous years

Hi Dee,

Barnette #1 has just offered to make scones and Barnette #2 has offered fairy cakes.

Whatever lasts the journey down I'll bring along!

Sorry this has nowt to do wi' cake n that, but I didn't want to waste a thread and the 'new website' thread has disappeared. It's prob'ly just me as usual but the only thing that I'm not keen on is that when you read to the end of a thread, it seems there's no longer any button to take you back to that subforum. browser 'back' is no good cos it doesn't mark the thread as 'read'. eg. this cake thread would have had a 'general banter' button as well as 'board index'. 'jump to' is no good either cos it's a list.

Oh and the Members list can't be sorted by column... ?

sorry to whinge :)

Browser "back" goes back one page in your history so it's the state that you left it to get to the current page, that's default browser behaviour. Just hit whatever keypress is "refresh" for you and it will sort itself out.

The members' list can be sorted by column but you have to click on the text in each column header to do so not just the "header" bar.

Edit: at the top of each page (just below the "Quick links" and FAQ" links) is a breadcrumb trail: Board Index < General Banter. Click on the General banter to get to the current forum in its new state of with the thread marked as read. There's a similar link at the foot of each page.
