49 inch Carbon Bear Bones Poles / Tarp

Post by Escape Goat »

So I ordered a pole suitable for an SMD lunar solo. The poles came super fast. Then the guy selling me the tent let me down. I now have some poles spare and new so id like to start using them.

Has anyone used a 49 inch pole with a tarp? I've got an alpkit bicycle. 3.5

Thanks :)

(Why on earth does it say alpkit bicycle?! I didn't even type this and I can't edit it as I can't see it when trying to edit?! A forest monster has invaded !!)

R1g is also used as an alternative to bike, particularly on some of the US sites such as Bikepacking.com i.e Joe Blogs just completed the Tour Divide in a day on his Salsa r1g. It is disliked by our benevolent dictator and included in his eccentric swear filter and changed to bicycle, much to the confusion of those referring to the Alpkit tarp range.

I've used a SMD Lunar Solo pole with a Siltarp 1, usually as a Flying V.

No reason why you can't use it with a tarp. It'll probably be too high for an A frame pitch (although there are ways and means) but should be fine as a half-pyramid. Plenty of stuff over here about tarps. https://bearbonesbikepacking.blogspot.com/
