Revelate Terrapin
I’m after a seatbag system similar to the Revelate Terrapin. In fact I’d buy one but they are completely out of stock everywhere.
I want something with quick release on the bag that is lightweight and decent quality. Is the Terrapin the only option? If so how on earth do I get one??

They've just released an update to the 14l terrapin to be in the same style as the 8l one with the protective bottom plastic bit so i'd guess it'll take a while for those to filter over to the UK. Would the bigger of the two wildcat seat holsters work?

Wildcat isn't a quick release system is it? I used to have one but found it a bit of a fiddle to get the bag off when my fingers were freezing cold

Drover is out of stock. Terrapin is ace, I really like mine. I have the slightly older version and rate it
Re: Revelate Terrapin
Mine is quickish rather than quick release - I normally have to undo a couple of velcro tabs and then the buckle and then I have enough give to wiggle the bag out. I only have the smaller of the two tigers so not sure if that makes a difference.Dave Barter wrote:Wildcat isn't a quick release system is it? Andy at backcountry has an order in progress. There's a wee backlog at Revelate that should hopefully be resolved soon.
The Revelate system just involves unclipping two buckles and then sliding the bag out.

Not the lightest but very well made and the magnetic buckle is as quick release as is possible. Very secure at the same time.Dave Barter wrote:Possibly but apparently quite heavy?lune ranger wrote:Restrap?
Btw do you mean quick releasing dry bag?
Or quick releasing harness?
On the restrap the bag comes out in a jiffy but the harness is attached with all the usual buckles and Velcro etc.
If you only got restrap harness only you could save a little weight with a lighter bag. The restrap dry bag is akin to the Ortleib pvc type bags.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

8l version bought from Andy at Backcountry Scot has been a great buy; I would recommend waiting for that to come in stock again if you can
