Resolutions and other lies.
It's that time of year again, so what (if anything) are you vowing to take up, give up or refrain from to make you and the world better?
I generally don't tend to have many as I'm crap at sticking to them but in 2019, I WILL get my book finished and I will strive to do or say at least one pleasant thing to / for someone every day ... obviously, it'll be lost amongst all the unpleasant ones but it's a start.

May the bridges you burn light your way

No sugary crap
Low carbs
Less meat
Cook better food
Ride more
Ride further
Ride faster
As above but with running
A lot less beer
A lot less wine
More sleep
Lose weight
More fun with kids
Do more fun stuff with wifey
More camping/bivying
Less working
Photo a day
Kickflip a day

Re: Resolutions and other lies.
Fill the book I'm writing with more content than I am currently filling my belly with.
Re: Resolutions and other lies.
To not drink many more GnTs and get round the New Years Day hilly 200km / 3000m I mapped out as my incentive to stay fairly sober. High stakes
Always had a good riding year following a big 1st Jan ride. Seems to set the tone for Jan-Mar then it all slots into place.

This time last year I gave up Strava, I've had 12 months of happy cycling without any external pressures.....
I urge others to do the same, it's liberating

Re: Resolutions and other lies.
Yep fecked off strava back at the beginning of 2018 good decision!
2019 Resolutions
Ride more than 2018 , won’t be hard but who is counting , strava isn’t
Drink less
Not buy any bike stuff unless it’s to replace something that is broken or worn out (this will be hard!)
BAM
Buy a house
Turn 50 with a bang
Train my dog better.....

That's very much a personal thing. It depends how you use Strava and how much you let it use you.JohnClimber wrote:This time last year I gave up Strava, I've had 12 months of happy cycling without any external pressures.....
