Enjoyed that looks like an great format with only 30 minutes of competition in a longer ride.
Previously I’d thought grinduro might be something entirely different

Yeh certainly comes across as a fun day out.
Re: Grinduro on now BBC Scot.
It was a fun event, a nice mix of against the clock racing, and just riding along. The scenery wasn't bad either (I may be biased)
I even came away with a prize...second place in my age cat...although it was only out of two , and think I only just scraped that :) It looks like the over 60's don't do "gravel" yet.

Re: Grinduro on now BBC Scot.
Funny seeing familiar faces on TV; I used to play bike polo with Agata (2nd in the ladies' race), and Chris Metcalfe is part of my extended in-laws.
Re: Grinduro on now BBC Scot.
Haha! Well done Yeh maybe the older I get the more I might want to race something as I might actually place by age group!
I might need to be reeeeally old though. I don't do racing as I already know I'm slow as F without it being demonstrated

Re: Grinduro on now BBC Scot.
The super wide bars were on one of the hand built bike show bikes - a novelty piece from Dear Susan (http://www.dearsusan.co.uk). He brought the massive 'clown bike' on his home page too, and a mate of his who hadn't forgotten his forks (??) rode it. He couldn't manage the technical stuff with the massive wheel base and high centre of gravity - he was proper knackered by the end

Will be on Arran next month and hoping to take the CX with me. Does anyone have a GPX file of the route please? Is it likely to still be rideable late December?
Can't watch the programme as no TV licence

Gravel bikes have no suspension whatsoever...

If you pm me your email I'll send the GPX over.
Should still be ridable, but some of the non gravel tracks will have a few slightly soggy (maybe very soggy) bits, but we ride them year round.
If you do Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/547388942270039/ will get you up to date info...or drop me a line
