New riding partners?

Post by Taylor »

Righto,
carrying on from the new riding partner thread.

I'm going to propose an overnighter.

Date: 6th April - 7th April

Meeting spot: The Who’d A Thought It public house, Lockeridge, Wiltshire.
GR: SU 147 697

Time: 4.30-5.00 pm(food stops at 6)

Then short ride out for a doss on a hill somewhere.

Ride in from whatever direction you fancy, distance up to you, but no transport to the pub other than by bike.

Lets see who comes........

Possibly. Not 100% whether i'm taking up a road bike or mtb yet. Were you thinking ride or bivvy ride?

Loved the idea of the ride. Don't think my kits up to this cold weather though.

Flatfishy, as I had a route planned but ultimately couldn't make it. Any chance you could give me a heads up on where to camp so I can put this in the future Bivi list?

Also curious to see where you camped out? New on here but this ride was in my local area as live in the Pewsey Vale, good riding round here if anyone wants to come over some time, several woods, Marlborough downs and Salisbury plain so good variety. Have slept out along the ridgeway several times in various spots over the years, and never really thought much about it, just climb into the bivi bag and get going again early in the morning before anyone is about, stop for a brew once I have warmed up. Did not realize until recently that what I was doing was bike packing to be honest! Not in a position to travel anywhere at present but would be great to meet up with one or two of you sometime if you fancy a ride locally. 40-50 miles is about my limit at the moment but working on my endurance!
