... and saved me over 100g on my WRT packing with a set of these:

200ml is just enough whisky for a weekend out in the Welsh hills and 9g per pouch is over 100g lighter than my (plastic) hip flask :-bd

(Be aware that some other pouches are listed as 220ml but are more like 650ml.)

Nice one :-bd Unfortunately, the boss always buys Fever Tree tonic in leetle cans

I do like that the pouches are flat, so easier to pack, I think.

I'll see how the pouches go, they could be 'orrible to live with — if I ever come across small plastic bottles in our recycling then I'll keep hold of them for a future comparison.

...just dropped off some dog turds, brake pads and roll of Fiber Fix. Spares kit is coming together nicely. And a new cap as the old one is disintegrating on me.

As they weren't in a bag and on fire, I'm thankful. Hopefully I never need to use 'em, but they're long overdue for the spares kit.

... and we chatted about bikes and cycling for a while, turns out he used to ride quite long distances once upon a time.

Anyways, it appears that he also left me a box. A big box. Full of bike. Thanks to Slackman99 for the tip-off on the Bargain Alerts Thread and Stu for the recommendation :-bd

Just got to get it fettled for the weekend, now

Brought a bottle of 5yr old Caol Ila for decanting for WRT. I've no idea what's wrong with it that it's been bottled at 5 years, but I'll enjoy finding out!

To the wrong address

I got an email from a business premises about 200m from ours saying there was a package for me :???: The delivery guy had left a load of boxes for them but mine had got mixed in and left there.

A 400ml titanium mug but a squatter profile than the likes of those from Alpkit, in fact think along the lines of a 650ml mug cut down. It will fit in my frame bag without straining the zip :-bd

It's this one - https://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk ... -400-p3529, there's a lid to go with it as well (separate purchase)

I can fit it with the top/bottom facing to the sides of the frame bag if that makes sense (if you were looking at the bike from the side it would be another circle)

They're available in UK from Sigma Sports https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Wolf-T ... liers/HY96

Some may think a bit extravagant but they are beautifully tactile...
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

A Camelback Repack LR bumbag. Has had good reviews and seems just the ticket. Enough space to be useful without inviting overloading, 1.5l water capacity and handy hip pockets for phone/snacks. Will be trying it out on a little Highland excursion in just over a week. :-bd
