Judging by the conditions on the northern side of the Cairngorms I'd think it would be just fine. Milder temperatures and a warm breeze have melted most if the lower-level stuff but rivers haven't really swollen as a result. In fact I was saying only yesterday that the Spey was quite low.

It's really hard to find on their site but the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has a page for river water levels http://apps.sepa.org.uk/waterlevels/ and the Tilt is one of those monitored. http://apps.sepa.org.uk/waterlevels/def ... t&lc=14959 Looks like there's a bit of meltwater at the moment but it's still in the "normal" range.

24hrs later and the Spey is now encroaching on the car park of the Old Bridge Inn in Aviemore. I was up skiing today and there were a couple of small burns running through the pistes lower down.

The SEPA suggestion is by far the best, but be aware that the monitoring location may not be anywhere close to a crossing point and that spate conditions can be somewhat in advance of, or behind the water level data.

What a day took us 8 hours due to the conditions,a lot of walking, still plenty snow drifted into the paths the worst parts being the single track through alt core Lagain and up Fealar Lodge .There were walkers sliding down the path on bivy bags fast way to descend.Snow deep and soft so walking difficult as you kept sinking in.The track up to Fealar lodge where there wasn't snow it was very soft -treacle like from snow melt-slog and thats when it decided to snow just to add to the pleasure-baltic.
Cross country skis would have been the way to go.Defo type 2 fun-I would leave it until the summer.
