I found my Etrex 30 plays much better with free-to-download Open Street Map tiles, than the OS card that came with my Edge 800.

It's the only way to get the wife out wild camping......

So if you can't beat them join them in a camper van (due this weekend)

It sure is, all mod cons to keep the wife happy such as 3 pin sockets for hair drier, a proper loo and a big bed and lots more

An Intergral Designs Solo Ground Cloth. Going to try a slightly different set up using that and my "TrailStar" to be a bit more acommodating when it's persisting it down.

Update on the van

Easy come easy go....

I won't be picking this up at the weekend for several reasons to long to go into.
Hopefully a tax rebate that I think I'm due in the next few months will fund a similar if slightly smaller van. :-(

I have needed to remind a few friends who have recently bought huge camper vans and park up in remote laybys....

With all respect that's not wild camping, just free camping.....

(and many thanks John for the tips on pitching the Lunar Solo at Bearstock)

1:50k os map sd card arrived today, which works in my garmin 800 that I thought was water damaged. Waiting to see if it works in the new etrex and the replacement garmin 810. Need to sell some of this crap I think!

Etrex is just doing a little 4 hour update of the built in maps....

Free gifts from Pedalcover with my new house insurance. Saved quite a bit and cover for bikes seems better than I've previously had.
