Wayfarer self heating meals

Post by Blackhound »

Saw some of these in my local Blacks yesterday. Anybody tried them? Would save taking a stove and could be ok for one night if travelling quickly or as an emergency ration.

Price is £5.50 but can 10% off this with my YHA card.

I took a bloke out last year who had some. He reckoned they tasted okay but said the portions weren't very big. I noticed that they seemed to take quite a while to heat up ... maybe a pouch/cosy would help?

I don't think the portions of any of these ready made camping meals are big enough!

Thanks both. I think it is about 10-12 minutes and contains around 400 calories. On its own not enough but a start. Might try one when I don't need to rely on it.
