mm thinking we will probably drink 1 litre minimum during the day then will need 0.5-1 litre evening for rehydrating food sachets then same again for breakfast sachets and brew possibly?

Chances of not finding water are slim. Why not simply collect it when you need it?

Single bottle or maybe 2 if you're worried and a 2l Platypuss (or similar) soft bottle for use at night and in the morning. Obviously, every litre you're carrying is another kilo.

It's the Cairngorms. Finding water won't be an issue.

A couple of standard 750ml bottles will be plenty.

1 or 2 bottles and a filter will be your best bet

Avoiding water and keeping dry is usually the issue. If you know what you are doing filter is not necessary. If it was really hot I might bring two bottles.......

I am praying I need the second bottle!

No need for a filter and it would take a 6 month drought to make finding amazing drinking water in the 'Gorms difficult....
Plenty fab camp / bivi spots on the loop right next to burns
