They do the job fine, never needed the balloon gasket but can see they would make things grippier.
I put a shock cord loop direct to the two holes either side then connected the guy to the shock to allow for stretch.

That's heartening. I ordered them of a site and then googles the makers www. Wondered if I'd bought something best suited to builders tarps

Btw, Stein Skyline cord has proved fine so far. Seems a tiny bit thicker than Zing It and not quite as slick. Seems to splice easier in the process of making two captive Stingerz set upsfor the tarp and a soft shackle. No weight testing yet ;)

Sorry to highjack, but what is that Stein Skyline life for general tarp/guy duty?
Seems like good value for money compared with other Dyneema's.

I've not used it in anger but the blurb on it implies it will be abundantly strong enough. It seems a tiny bit thicker than Zing It but in use I imagine it'd be hard to tell. It handles fine for what I've done so far, making ridgelines and some guys. I wondered if it might snag and tangle more than Zing It as it doesn't seem to have the coating but so far no problems.

In short, I reckon it'll be fine

No worries. If it doesn't work for you then posts up.

I've not properly used it yet, just got the reel and rigged a couple of things. I um'd and ah'd for ages before buying it as there was so little info about it / others using it (even on Hammockforums.net).

About a third cheaper than Zing It (even allowing for the fact it's a 50m spool - ZI is 55m). I got mine from here:

If you find cheaper let me know 8-)
